When I had my first baby, I wanted to chronicle his life through scrapbooking. I subscribed to a couple of scrapbook magazines and went to work. But after a while I realized, that even though I was making my pages exactly like the pages in the magazine, for some reason they just didn't look as good. It took me a while to figure out why - - my photos were terrible! And even more depressing than that realization, was the realization that I didn't have the foggiest idea how to go about taking good ones.
So I started reading and obsessing and became determined to learn portrait photography. And what a wonderful journey it's been!
One of my favorite parts of this amazing hobby, is that I'm constantly learning, growing and developing. And all the time, I'm falling more and more in love with the human face -- freckles, dimples, tiny lips, upturned noses, and of course.... eyes.
And I'll tell you this - photo shoots are FUN! I can't believe what a riot it can be to joke and tease and go with the flow and get to know people just a little bit better.
